when i grow up ...
i want my kids to be like these kids! I'm not kidding. These guys were so mature and sweet and easy to work with (not to mention handsome and beautiful!). A real pleasure to shoot with. And it shows. We got wonderful shots.

just a little girl in a pretty, pink dress
Elliot is 4. I shot with her a couple years ago and was so excited to see her again. She looks about the same only bigger. When I'm shooting with her, she's either talking, singing, seriously thoughtful, or is melting into the sweetest, cutest, little girl laugh I've ever seen. That's my favorite. I can never resist a genuine laugh.

light saber battle gone bad
My little JJ's first black eye. I warned him not to pretend bats are light sabers!
We were having dinner with friends and Maylon came running, saying Jackson's eye was bleeding. (Not what a parent likes to hear). I ran outside, to find Jackson crying and yelling, "It's OK!!!" He wouldn't let me near him, but I caught a glimpse of the wound (not to bad ... could have been a lot worse).
He then locked himself in the bathroom and yelled, "Don't talk about it! Everything's fine!" He was remembering the last time Maylon a cut on her eye (accident with an exercise band and a tug-o-war) and had to get stitches at the hospital. I left him in the bathroom for a while (I didn't talk about it!) then coaxed him out with some carrot cake. He was right, everything's fine.

blue hawaiian shirt, red crocs
Rachel warned me that little John had a mind of his own ... he loves his blue Hawaiian shirt and red crocks (oh, and red socks). "Great!" I thought. Gotta love a little guy with style. And, really, those colors turned out beautifully against the summer green background. And the best thing is, it's his true personality.
The rest of the crew, Bradley and Sarah, were just as fun. Though Sarah took a while to warm up (I tried my best!) we got her to giggle a bit at the end. And, lucky me, Rachel & Eric (the parents) were great throughout the whole shoot.
Thanks for waiting for these, Rachel! It was hard to just pick a few for the blog. You'll LOVE the rest.
